Code of ethics & conduct
Last updated : June 2026
Preamble
Ideal Medical Projects SASU carries out its biomedical engineering activity in complex environments, involving States, international funders (KfW, AFD, development banks) and public or private healthcare facilities in emerging or developing countries.
In this context, adherence to strict ethical principles is not only a moral obligation but a fundamental condition of credibility and effectiveness. This charter formalises the commitments that Ideal Medical Projects imposes on itself and asks all its partners, subcontractors and service providers to respect.
1. Independence and absence of conflicts of interest
Ideal Medical Projects holds no stake, direct or indirect, in the capital of any manufacturer or distributor of medical equipment. No exclusivity agreement, commission or hidden remuneration is accepted from a supplier.
The choice of equipment and providers rests solely on objective criteria: clinical relevance, technical quality, suitability to the local context, value for money and reliability of after-sales service.
- No contractual exclusivity with a manufacturer or distributor
- No remuneration conditional on choosing a particular supplier
- Systematic declaration of any potential conflict of interest
- A transparent, documented selection process
2. Transparency and honesty
Ideal Medical Projects undertakes to provide its clients with complete, accurate and fair information on the solutions offered, their real costs, their benefits and their limits. No information likely to mislead will be deliberately communicated or omitted.
Mission reports, technical reports and contractual documents faithfully reflect the reality of the project, including when it is unfavourable or complex.
3. The patient's interest as the absolute priority
In any hospital project, the patient is the ultimate purpose. All decisions regarding the choice of equipment, its sizing and its commissioning are taken first and foremost with regard to their impact on the quality of care and the safety of patients.
Ideal Medical Projects refuses any compromise on equipment quality that could endanger patients or care staff, whatever the level of budget constraint.
4. Fighting corruption and unlawful practices
Ideal Medical Projects strictly complies with French and international anti-corruption legislation, in particular the Sapin II Act (Act no. 2016-1691 of 9 December 2016) and the OECD Convention on Combating Bribery of Foreign Public Officials.
- Absolute prohibition of any form of active or passive corruption
- Refusal of any facilitation payment
- Due diligence on partners and subcontractors (KYC/KYP)
- Internal detection and reporting procedures
- Staff training on corruption risks
Any breach of these principles by a partner results in the immediate termination of the contractual relationship.
5. Social and environmental responsibility
Ideal Medical Projects undertakes to take into account, in carrying out its assignments, the social and environmental issues of the countries of operation:
- Priority to suppliers holding recognised quality certifications (ISO 13485, CE, FDA)
- Attention to manufacturing conditions and workers' rights
- Consideration of local environmental regulations
- Logistics optimisation to reduce the carbon footprint of projects
6. Skills transfer and local autonomy
Ideal Medical Projects considers that the lasting autonomy of local teams is a success criterion in its own right. Every assignment systematically includes a skills-transfer component: user training, maintenance-technician training, and the setting up of protocols and procedures suited to the local context.
The aim is for the beneficiary healthcare facilities to be fully autonomous in the management, use and maintenance of their equipment once our involvement ends.
7. Partner commitment
This charter is communicated to all of Ideal Medical Projects' partners, subcontractors and service providers. Their adherence to these principles is a prerequisite for any collaboration.
Ideal Medical Projects reserves the right to end any contractual relationship with a partner whose conduct is contrary to the values set out in this charter.
